Holiday Apartment in Triei: Nature, Nuraghi and Festivals
Accommodation in Triei
Triei Between Nature and Culture
Triei combines a varied landscape with historic buildings and festivals throughout the year.
The landscape around Triei alternates between plains and hills. Forests of holm oaks, cork oaks and carob trees, as well as dense Mediterranean maquis, cover the landscape. These plant habitats shape the appearance of the area and lead directly to its wildlife.

The forests and Mediterranean maquis of Triei provide habitats for martens, mouflons, golden eagles and falcons. Nature enthusiasts can therefore focus on specific animal species and their habitats.
Landscape, Wildlife and Beaches
There are several beaches in the area around Triei: Spiaggia di Santa Maria Navarrese, Cala Goloritzè, Spiaggia di Isula Manna and Spiaggia di Cala dei Gabbiani.
Nuraghi and Historic Sites
The Tomba dei Giganti di Osono is a tomb structure more than twenty metres long. It was unearthed intact in 1989.
The five-lobed Nuraghe Bau Nuraxi lies about two kilometres from Triei and was built from large granite blocks. At Bau Nuraxi, the distance of approximately two kilometres can be incorporated into a day’s itinerary around Triei. The five lobes and the granite material give the nuraghe a clearly recognisable architectural profile.
Castello di Medusa, a castle, is located in the area around Triei. Nuraghe Lorio, Nuraghe Ruyu and Nuraghe Corongiu are also nearby; all three are historic sites.
Church, Murals and Local History
The parish church of Santi Cosma e Damiano dates from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Arte a Triei takes place in May. As part of the event, the façades, streets and squares of the oldest neighbourhoods were enhanced with murals and works by Sardinian, Italian and international artists. This makes art visible across several parts of Triei’s historic townscape. In May, Arte a Triei and the procession for San Sebastiano can be taken into account together.
Festivals Throughout the Year
The procession for San Sebastiano, held in May, is characterised by decorated ox carts.
At the May festival s’Orroseri of Madonna del Rosario, the local bread sa simbula is blessed and distributed.
In mid-January, the fires of Sant'Antonio abate are lit; traditional sweets such as sa paniscedda are tasted during the celebrations. Fire and pastries are part of this festival together.
The festival of Sant'Antonio da Padova takes place on 10 August at the country church of Mullò, four kilometres from Triei. The festival location of Mullò and the distance of four kilometres are explicitly linked to Triei. For the August festival in Mullò, the distance of four kilometres is a specific spatial factor when planning.
