Loceri combines tangible traces of everyday life with a landscape of springs, mountains, hiking trails and a valley sloping eastward towards the coast. When you choose a holiday apartment in Loceri, you can shape your days around different interests: culture and history, active experiences or the landscapes between Ogliastra and the sea.

Springs, peaks and the coast to the east

The area around Loceri is rich in springs. Monte Tarè is one of the peaks highlighted in the Loceri area. To the east, the area extends into a valley that slopes down to Spiaggia di Cea. This beach is located near Loceri and is known for its red porphyry rock spires. Spiaggia di Cala Ginepro is also nearby. Here, springs, mountain formations and stretches of coast with their own geological character come together in the landscape.

Hiking trail and climbing wall near Loceri

From Loceri, the paved municipal road to Monte Tarè leads after about 2 kilometres to Località Sa Funtana de su Scovargiu. The Funtana Su Scovargiu–Intramontes hiking trail (B 550B) begins at Funtana de Su Scovargiu and connects in the north with a path that runs through the area of Ilbono to Intramontes and the summit of Monte Tarè. The climbing wall near Loceri offers around twenty routes graded from 5a to 7b on the red, rough granite of Ogliastra. This gives you both a documented hiking connection and a dedicated climbing area with various difficulty levels for active days during your holiday.

Museum, nuraghi and local tradition

The Sa Domu de s'Olia Museum reconstructs domestic and work-related spaces and displays a traditional machine for pressing olives. The historical sites Nuraghe Sartalai, Nuraghe Geperarci, Nuraghe Elurci and Nuraghe Cea are located in the immediate vicinity of Loceri. The peaks Punta Perdarba and Punta Peddi Impeddosa are also nearby. Gennas Abertas is a traditional summer event in Loceri organised by the municipality and the Pro Loco. Alongside the landscapes, these destinations and themes give a stay a cultural and local dimension.

Choose a holiday apartment in Loceri according to your travel interests

A clear order of priorities can help you choose your holiday apartment in Loceri: first decide whether museums and historical sites, the hiking trail and climbing wall, or springs, peaks and the coast should be the main focus. This allows families with different interests to divide their holiday days between culture, activity and landscapes without limiting the decision to a single activity. The choice of location should therefore be guided by the experiences you actually plan to enjoy.
