Holiday apartment in Rimasco: Lake, Trails and Mountain Culture
Accommodation in Rimasco
Rimasco combines a clear mountain and lakeside setting with trails, historic churches and seasonal activities. The village stretches along the shore of Lago di Rimasco, an artificial lake. It was created in 1925 through the construction of a dam downstream from the village to increase electricity generation. This character of the village provides a useful starting point when choosing a holiday apartment in Rimasco: you can consider whether you would rather spend your days by the lake, on the trails or exploring cultural sights.

A special cultural landmark is the Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Giacomo. It has ancient origins and acquired its present form in 1688. Inside are numerous fragments of 15th-century medieval frescoes depicting the months and the work of the people. There is also a wooden high altar with a pyramidal tabernacle, together with statues of Saint John the Baptist and Saint James. The church thus combines sacred art, local history and vivid depictions of everyday life in earlier times.
Just outside Rimasco lies the hamlet of Dorca at an altitude of 1,276 m. You can reach Dorca on foot via a stone-paved mule track or by rack railway. Another historic destination is the Chiesa di Santa Croce on the banks of the Egua stream near Lago di Rimasco. It was built towards the end of the 17th century on private initiative. Together with the lake and mountain trails, this creates a varied basis for days in which nature and culture follow closely one after the other.
