Holiday apartment in Premosello-Chiovenda: nature trails and local history

The “Itinerario Bosco Tenso” trail connects the WWF Bosco Tenso nature oasis in Premosello-Chiovenda with the medieval village of Vogogna. It begins next to Premosello-Chiovenda’s municipal sports field. The Sentiero Geologico takes about one hour without breaks. Between Vogogna and Premosello-Chiovenda, it offers the opportunity to cross the continental Earth’s crust, so to speak, and observe rocks that formed at different depths.

Churches, art and historical evidence

The parish church of Maria Vergine Assunta dates in its present form from the late 16th century or the first decades of the 17th century. It preserves Baroque woodwork, including confessionals, a pulpit and a sacristy cabinet. The former ossuary next to the church was built in 1780.

The old sacristy of the parish church of San Martino vescovo dates from approximately 1200; the new parish church was completed in 1629. The church of San Martino in Cuzzago contains statues from the “Compianti mutili”; the works on which they are based are attributed to Giovanni Angelo Del Maino.

In Colloro, San Gottardo is celebrated every year on 4 May with a mass and a procession through the village. The Antico Torchio di Colloro dates from the second half of the 17th century; it was used to process grape pomace, walnuts and rye into wine, lamp fuel and flour. The Museo Cà Vegia is associated with a former dairy consortium that was founded around the middle of the 19th century and brought the milk of the owners of 147 cattle to the dairy twice a day. On 13 May 2026, the municipality of Premosello-Chiovenda initiated a procedure for managing the Casa Museo Cà Vegia in Colloro, with the aim of ensuring its opening to the public.
