Piedilago combines a lake, peaks, historic buildings, and routes for walkers and cyclists. The routes pass through Piedilago, Cristo, Cagiogno, and Piana di Pissero at different points. The Oratorio Madonna della Neve in the Località Piedilago was rebuilt in 1850 and dedicated to Madonna della Neve and Saint Carlo Borromeo. Its sacred history forms a distinct focus alongside the routes by the water and the peaks around Piedilago.

Culture and historical traces around Piedilago

In Cristo, behind the bridge of the Piedilago dam, are the remains of a medieval signal tower. In the wider regional surroundings of Piedilago, there are also the ruins of Gmeinalp and the Parrocchia Ss. Gervasio E Protasio church. This gives those interested in culture specific points of reference in the form of a medieval signal tower, ruins, and sacred architecture.

Mountain landscape and peaks around Piedilago

The peaks of La Pizzetta and Pizzo dei Croselli are located in the immediate vicinity of Piedilago. Pizzo Nava and Corona Troggi are situated in the area around Piedilago. For day planning, La Pizzetta and Pizzo dei Croselli can be considered separately from Pizzo Nava and Corona Troggi as distinct peak destinations.

Walking route and Lago di Piedilago

The Nordic walking route from Verampio to the Terme di Premia offers an alternative route via Piedilago. Lago di Piedilago is a designated point of interest on this Nordic walking route. The connection therefore leads from Verampio via Piedilago to the Terme di Premia; the lake adds a specific sightseeing point to the route.

Paved routes for cyclists

One path runs along the artificial Lago di Piedilago before the route returns to a flat paved road. Another stretch leads below the hamlet of Cristo through Piana di Pissero and runs there along a flat paved road. The two sections relate to different landscapes: in one case the artificial lake, and in the other Cristo and Piana di Pissero.

Cyclists can continue along the state road to Piedilago and there take a paved road to Cagiogno instead of the impassable climb. The paved road to Cagiogno is relevant for route planning because it replaces the impassable climb. Albergo del Ponte in Piedilago is associated with a bicycle rental service.

Accommodation and food along the routes

Piedilago is associated with accommodation and food on the route. On the G00 Via del Gries stage between Baceno and Ponte, food options are available in Premia or Piedilago, as well as at the Terme di Premia, in Cadarese, and in Fondovalle. For this stage, Premia, the Terme di Premia, Cadarese, and Fondovalle are therefore also associated with food options alongside Piedilago.
