Mozzio lies in the Antigorio Valley and bears traces of local history. Mozzio, Viceno and Cravegna are situated on two sunny viewing balconies along the larger orographic terrace of the Antigorio Valley. A panoramic road connects the three villages and ends on the opposite side of the valley in Maglioggio. Churches, sanctuaries and art in Mozzio
In the upper part of Mozzio stands the Oratorio di San Giuseppe, a building dating from the early 18th century. Inside are an almost life-size crucifix and a signed painting of the death of Saint Joseph from 1787. The combination of its construction period, religious furnishings and the specific painting makes the oratory a worthwhile destination for anyone who wants to discover not only landscapes but also individual historical details during their holiday.
The Santuario della Madonna della Vita is located in the hamlet of Smeglio. The sanctuary dates from the 17th century and features frescoes by the Borgnis. Together with the Chiesa di San Giacomo in Mozzio, this forms a close group of different religious buildings: an oratory in the upper part of the village, a sanctuary in Smeglio and a church right in Mozzio.
