The Itinerario B25 offers a challenging route with clearly defined parameters. The ascent takes around five hours, the descent around three hours and 20 minutes, and the elevation gain is 1,713 metres. The Itinerario B25 starts in Ceppo Morelli at an altitude of 759 metres and ends at Passo del Laghetto at an altitude of 2,472 metres. Its final section reaches the rocky ridge of Passo del Laghetto and is recommended for experienced hikers with good navigation skills and suitable equipment. The long duration and substantial elevation gain define the B25 as an extended mountain tour; navigation and appropriate equipment are particularly important on the rocky ridge.

A different connection is provided by the approximately 8-kilometre intermunicipal Sentiero della salute “Luigi Corti”: It connects Ceppo Morelli with Vanzone con San Carlo and Bannio Anzino. For a shorter itinerary, the approximately two-hour trail from Borgone to Alpe Laveggio is a good option, offering views of the Valle Anzasca and the Monte Rosa massif. Its length provides a clear framework for planning the day, while the route continues beyond Ceppo Morelli.

The trail from Mondelli to Alpe Cortenero also features a special detour: A short side path leads to the waterfalls on the Rio Mondelli. The Sentiero dei Minatori begins in the Campioli district of Ceppo Morelli and leads to Crocette, also known as “Città Morta”, passing through places connected with the mining history of the upper Valle Anzasca.

Winter, architectural heritage and sacred sites

In Ceppo Morelli, the “Lucia Pizzi” cross-country ski track is located in Località Case Sturi. A scheduled bus service from Domodossola is also relevant for getting there, stopping at the Ceppo Morelli stop.

Alpe Cortenero was built entirely from local stone, stood abandoned for several years and was conservatively restored in 2004 while preserving the original construction techniques. The Santuario del Croppo, a historic sacred building dedicated to the Virgin Mary, also stands in the Croppo district of Ceppo Morelli. It was built in the second half of the 17th century, probably between 1650 and 1670.

The peaks Monte Poncastello and Pizzo Tignaga are located in the immediate surroundings of Ceppo Morelli. The peaks Cresta delle Lonze and Pizzo Torrigia are also situated nearby.
