Altidona between coast and history

Altidona combines medieval walls, coastal landscapes, sacred art and local festivals. The medieval walls of Altidona are well preserved. A medieval watchtower overlooks the Aso Valley. Every summer, the literary series Terrazza Vista Mare brings authors, readers and culture enthusiasts together in the historic town centre and at particularly scenic locations; the programme includes book presentations and conversations with authors. The Carnevale Altidonese features parades of allegorical floats, masked groups, music and activities for the whole family. The “Altidona a teatro” theatre season has also been announced for 2026: eight events featuring comedy, poetry, music and socially engaged theatre are scheduled at the Teatro Comunale.
