Numana combines nearby beaches with maritime experiences on the Riviera del Conero, ancient history and regional wine culture. The coast, Mediterranean scrub, historical collections and wines from the surrounding area are among Numana’s diverse facets. The coast provides the maritime setting, while ancient finds, local festival traditions and winegrowing represent further concrete themes of the town and its surroundings.
Beaches and distinctive coastal scenery
The beaches in the immediate vicinity of Numana include Spiaggia di Numana Alta, Spiaggia del Frate, Spiaggia Urbani and Spiaggia di San Michele.
A large white rock dominates the coastal scenery at Spiaggia del Frate. The rock is called Sasso del Bo (Bue).

The richly furnished tomb complex of the Regina di Sirolo includes Attic and Picenian vessels as well as bronze objects. The jewelry is made of ivory, bronze and amber. The remains of a single-horse carriage and a war chariot are also part of the complex.
The traditional Cristo-Re festival takes place in Numana on the last Sunday in October and dates back to old customs of the local community. The date on the last Sunday in October can therefore be included as a distinct cultural focus in an autumn trip.
