A holiday apartment in Bussero opens up a place where a rural village character, villa history and cultural experiences come together. The historic centre preserves the layout of an old rural village: longitudinally arranged houses, narrow winding streets and entrances to old courtyards characterise the village centre. This makes Bussero particularly interesting when planning a trip if you want to discover historic details not only in individual buildings but also in the structure of a place.

The Villa Casnati, one of Bussero’s oldest buildings, is located in the historic centre. Its original Italian garden was replaced by an English park in the 19th century. The entrance to the park is at street level at the intersection of Via Legnani and Via Bossi and is accessible on foot without steps. Villa Casnati can also be reserved for events and celebrations.
Villa Radaelli was built on the northeastern edge of the old village in the first half of the 17th century. The private Oratory of San Francesco attached to it is equated in historical accounts with the medieval Church of San Pietro, which had already been mentioned by Gotifredo da Bussero. The medieval Milanese chronicler is associated with Bussero and wrote the “Liber Notitiae Sanctorum Mediolani” towards the end of the 13th century.
Another historical trace leads to Villa Sioli Legnani. It has been documented since 1619, when it belonged to the Corio family, before passing into the possession of the Sioli Legnani family. In 1723, also thanks to its owner Giuseppe Gorini Corio, it became a well-known meeting place for writers of the time, including the brothers Pietro, Alessandro and Carlo Verri. As part of the changes in the mid-19th century, the villa’s Italian garden was transformed into an English garden.
Walking routes, festivals and cultural experiences
Bussero offers several specific points of interest for different kinds of holiday days. The Parco Agricolo Nord Est connects the town centres of its participating municipalities, including Bussero, through a network of routes marked according to CAI standards. A station on Milan’s M2 metro line is also part of the local landscape and provides additional orientation when choosing a holiday destination, without any specific travel times or connections being inferred from this.
Bussero comes alive during Bussero in Festa. The town festival has been held since 1996 and takes place annually in October; it reaches its peak on the second Sunday in October. The programme includes cultural initiatives, workshops on active citizenship, family areas and entertainment for children. At food stalls, visitors can sample typical products as well as dishes from the local and Italian culinary traditions. The festival thus combines shared experiences with insights into local culture and cuisine.
The 505 m² foyer of Spazio Sfera can also be set up for exhibitions, artistic installations, events or workshops. Together with the villas, historic gardens and festival calendar, this creates a broad picture of Bussero: history can be followed in the village centre, while events and walking routes provide further focal points for planning a trip.
Plan the right stay in Bussero
When choosing a holiday apartment in Bussero, you can base your decision on the destination’s documented points of interest. The village centre and villas are suited to a culturally oriented trip, while the English park of Villa Casnati and the marked network of routes in the Parco Agricolo Nord Est complement the stay with walks and impressions of the landscape. Families will find explicitly designated areas and activities for children at Bussero in Festa; those who enjoy culinary discoveries can sample local and Italian dishes there. Accommodation in Bussero thus provides a starting point for a trip whose focus you can choose yourself between history, walking routes, festivals and regional cuisine.
