Discover Ghedi: Holiday apartment in Ghedi amid local culture, parks and festivals

Ghedi combines religious buildings, a municipal library, a city park, paths and local festivals. Several cultural destinations can also be found in the surrounding area.

Local culture with distinctive details

The Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta is located in the built-up centre of Ghedi. It has five side altars made of polychrome marble from the 17th and 18th centuries. The five side altars link the religious building with artistic and craft details from two centuries.

The Chiesa di San Rocco is also known as “Morti della fossetta di Ghedi”. It was built in memory of the plague of 1630 and contains numerous votive offerings. The reference to the plague of 1630 and the votive offerings add further specific historical details to the name.

Public places and green perspectives

As a freely accessible public information centre, the Biblioteca Comunale di Ghedi has reading and work areas for young people and adults. Its offerings include publications, magazines and newspapers, as well as computers. Internet access and free Wi-Fi are also available. The information centre therefore includes both printed media and computers and digital connections.

The city park Parco urbano is located south of Ghedi’s town centre near Via dei Fontanili and covers approximately 23,000 m². The park includes a city garden, a dog park and a combined cycle and pedestrian path. The approximate area of 23,000 m² provides an indication of the scale for planning a day out without specifying an exact measurement of the park area. The park thus combines three clearly distinguishable features within its grounds: a garden, a dog park and a path. The combined cycle and pedestrian path is an independent feature alongside the city garden and dog park.

The Gruppo di cammino di Ghedi uses an approximately 5 km-long combined cycle and pedestrian route to the sports centre. The route adds a connection to the sports centre to the walking and cycling perspective of the Parco urbano.

Local events and destinations in the surrounding area

The Sagra Mestieri e Sapori “Ghedi in tavola” is a regular local event organised by Pro Loco Ghedi together with the departments responsible for culture and social affairs. Alongside the permanent buildings and public places, Ghedi therefore also has a recurring event format.

The Sagra di San Rocco was announced in 2026 as its 19th edition. It therefore represents a separate time-specific festival reference alongside the regular Sagra Mestieri e Sapori.

The Museo Lechi museum, Castello Bonoris castle and Pinacoteca Pasinetti museum can also be found in the surrounding area of Ghedi. These three destinations complement the cultural themes around Ghedi with museums and a castle.
