The predecessor building of the Palazzo Deodato Laffranchi was donated to the municipality in 1635, after the death of Deodato Laffranchi, who came from Carpenedolo, to serve as a hospital and orphanage.

Festivals and Local Traditions

Every year on 4 May, the Chiesa di San Pietro hosts the Feast of Saint Gottardo. Another festival highlight is the Fiera di San Bartolomeo. In 2026, it had reached its 55th edition; it was scheduled to take place along the streets of Carpenedolo’s historic centre between 21 August and 24 August 2026. The Fiera di San Bartolomeo is known as the “sagra del Malfatto”.
