Historic Centre with Medieval Traces

The parish church of Saints Hippolytus and Cassianus contains detached frescoes from the 15th century attributed to G. Pietro da Cemmo. San Nicola has an interior with three naves and furnishings ranging from the late Baroque to Neoclassicism. San Nicola became the parish church at the beginning of the 16th century.

The Palazzo Martinoni di Calepio also makes its own architectural statement. It has a Baroque portal and an arcaded courtyard overlooking the lake. From Riva di Solto, the Bögn can be reached on foot in the direction of Castro via the old lakeside road.

Sentiero 567 offers views of the Sebino and Corna Trentapassi. Its route joins an ancient mule track believed to be of Roman origin; it climbs to the hamlet of Xino. Another option is the Giro panoramico di Riva di Solto, a circular trail through meadows and woods. On the Giro, follow the signs for the Sentiero Naturalistico del Sebino towards Lovere. For planning a day out, the trail types differ clearly: the route via the ancient mule track to the hamlet of Xino climbs uphill, while the Giro panoramico is a circular trail through the surrounding meadows and woods.

Town Centre and Getting There

Riva di Solto town centre has a boat landing and a stop for bus C40b. Bus C40 travels from Bergamo to Riva di Solto in about 1 hour and 10 minutes, with a change in Piangaiano.

Riva di Solto combines historic buildings in the town with the Bögn on Lake Iseo, as well as Sentiero 567 and the Giro panoramico in the surrounding area.
