Predore lies at the mouth of the Torrente Rino in the lower basin of Lake Iseo. The municipality stretches from the shores of Lake Iseo to Corno di Predore, creating a distinct range of landscapes: in the same holiday destination, lakeshore, wooded slopes and mountain trails come together. When choosing a holiday apartment in Predore, you can therefore consider whether you would like to spend your days mainly on excursions by the water, cultural discoveries or hikes.

Predore offers several different starting points for walks and hikes. Sentiero 734 begins with the staircase to the Santuario di San Gregorio and leads through terraces and pastureland towards Verasca. It continues over a ridge through a forest of downy oaks and hop hornbeams to Punta Alta. The Santuario Madonna della Neve in San Gregorio lies at an altitude of 953 m and provides a distinctive cultural and landscape landmark.

The trails starting from Piazza Vittorio Veneto also offer various options for planning your day. The Sentiero Monte Bronzone reaches the summit of Monte Bronzone via a steep section through the forest. The Sentiero Cimacarda: Colle del Giogo leads from the same piazza through the forest to the Colle del Giogo saddle. The Anello-Maggiore route forms a circular trail through the entire municipality of Predore. For another hike, the Croce di Predore route follows signpost 708 to the meadows of Col Giera; from there, the summit of Corno Buco, with a metal cross at an altitude of 960 m, can be seen.

Rocky landscapes and excursions on Lake Iseo

The Falesia di Predore begins above the town of Predore on the Bergamo shore of Lake Iseo and extends eastwards to the entrance of the first tunnel on the SP 469. The Falesie di Predore climbing area has around 70 routes with difficulty grades ranging from 4a to 8c. The landscape described therefore offers everything from quiet stretches of trail and mountain destinations to a clearly defined climbing area. These different options can help you look for accommodation suited to your preferred holiday rhythm, without Predore being limited to just one type of trip.

Excursions along the shores of Lake Iseo are also possible in Predore. There are several car parks and a landing stage for the excursion boat near the archaeological area of the Villa dei Noni. The thermal complex that can be visited today is part of a large Roman villa in the historic centre of Predore. Its thermal complex was built between the 2nd and 3rd centuries, giving the area a distinct historical dimension alongside its natural attractions.

History, lake travel and regional discoveries

Predore’s visible past also includes the Torre Foresti. Dating from the 13th–14th century, it is evidence of Predore’s medieval fortifications, which have since disappeared. The Naèt is an ancient boat once used by fishermen. Naèt d’Or is a summer event featuring a series of races along the shores of the lake, linking this name with a special aspect of the local lake tradition.

Predore is served by bus company Bergamo Trasporti with line E. The town can also be reached year-round by boat via the lake. These two documented options may play a role when choosing your holiday apartment or holiday house if you do not want to plan your holiday days exclusively around the car. For further orientation, you can also consider Scanzorosciate, Telgate, Colere, Castione Della Presolana, Oneta, Zandobbio, Bianzano and Bordogna.
