The floor plan follows the shape of a Latin cross; it also features stucco pilasters and two altars in the transept dedicated to the Visitation and the Madonna.

The Chiesa di San Bartolomeo in Cornalta, Bracca, is likewise associated with the year 1575 and has three altars. It also houses a 17th-century oil painting from the school of Ceresa depicting Mary with the saints. Along the same route, it climbs gently towards the renowned thermal spring of Bracca.

Sentiero 597 connects Frerola in Algua with Bracca in Val Serina. The connection with the valley floor has been passable since 1505 via the bridge of Ambria; it was built by the municipalities of Bracca and Spino.
