In 2021, CAI Trail 516 was extended from Forca d'Aviatico to Monte Poieto. CAI Trail 521 reaches Ganda's church square. CAI Trail 521A is approximately 1.6 kilometers long, ascends 250 meters and takes about 45 minutes. The different trail lengths and profiles help you adapt your daily planning to your preferred focus.

CAI Trail 537 leads through Ama and then continues toward Monte Cornagera and Monte Poieto. The Cornagera–Monte Poieto circular hike begins near Aviatico's parking area and follows Trail 537 toward Monte Cornagera and Monte Poieto. The Aviatico–Monte Poieto route begins in Aviatico and ends at Monte Poieto. It can be reached by car via the SP35 Bergamo–Nembro, the SP36 Cantul and the SP31 Aviatico, as well as by bus from Bergamo via Nembro to Aviatico.

From Aviatico, Monte Poieto can be reached via numerous hiking trails as well as by a lift that leads directly to the summit. At the rock towers of Cornagera, there are sport climbing routes ranging from easy grades to grade 6c. The path through the Cornagera labyrinth connects CAI Trails 537 and 521 and leads to the summit of Cornagera at an elevation of 1,311 meters. On this route, the Büs de la Carolina is a narrow passage between high rock walls. Monte Poieto is reached at an elevation of 1,360 meters and offers forests, pastures and views over the valley below.

Churches, chapels and art in Aviatico

The Osservatorio Astronomico delle Prealpi Orobiche is located on the southern slopes of Monte Poieto at an elevation of approximately 1,200 meters in Ganda, a hamlet of Aviatico. At the summit of Monte Poieto stands a chapel dedicated to the Madonna della Neve, also known as Madonna di Poieto. The San Rocco temple in Aviatico dates back to 1632 and was built as a vow by plague survivors following the plague of 1630.

In Amora, the parish church of San Bernardino da Siena stands on a raised church square known as the Belvedere. It contains paintings titled “The Last Supper,” “Madonna del Carmine,” “The Fall of the Manna” and “The Sacrifice of Isaac.” In Ama, the Church of San Salvatore and the Transfiguration houses a polyptych by Giovanni Giacomo Gavasio as well as an 18th-century wooden statue of the Madonna delle Convulsioni by an unknown sculptor.

A church in Ganda has a façade with six niches containing painted depictions of Mary and Saints Anthony the Abbot, Joseph, Roch, Peter and Paul. Aviatico is also home to a sacred site with a painting of Saint Francis of Assisi attributed to Giovan Battista Moroni.
