Mastrati was abandoned in the second half of the 17th century because of problems associated with malaria.

Mastrati is a small hamlet of Pratella at the foot of the Matese. In 2026, the traditional Sagra della Pannocchia held there reached its 38th edition. The festival celebrates corn as a symbol of the local agricultural tradition and featured Frattacchio, culinary specialities, and typical local products.
