The Duomo was built between the 12th and 13th centuries in the Apulian Romanesque style and is dedicated to Saint Conrad of Bavaria. Three domes arranged along one axis and two towers define the building; one of the towers is a lookout tower offering sea views. The medieval Centro Antico is located on the Sant’Andrea peninsula. It takes its name from the old church of the same name, first mentioned in notarial documents in 1126.

Via Vico Muro leads to a scenic walk along the old walls of the Centro Antico. The top of the Torrione Passari also offers a special perspective: from there, the view extends 360 degrees. Harbour, museums and maritime history

A walk along the harbour of Molfetta takes you past numerous fishing boats and shipyards and conveys the city’s maritime character. In the Museo del Mare, one section displays fishing nets from the Adriatic, navigational instruments, and historical reconstructions of medieval landing places and the harbour as it was in the 19th century.

The Museo Diocesano complements the maritime and archaeological perspectives. Its archaeological section includes Neolithic and pre-Roman artefacts, most of which come from the prehistoric settlement of Pulo di Molfetta. In the Biblioteca del Seminario Vescovile, the museum preserves manuscripts, incunabula, books from the 16th century, and printed texts from the 17th and 18th centuries. Dating from the 11th century, the Ospedale dei Crociati served in Molfetta as a place of rest and care for pilgrims and was located near the ancient landing places of Cala San Giacomo and Cala dei Pali. Temporary exhibitions have been held in the Sala dei Templari for many years.
