The lands of Masseria Losciale have belonged since the 17th century to the patrician Martinelli family, originally from Salerno and based in Monopoli. Its architrave features a dentil moulding and a frieze decorated with rosettes. Beside the chapel are a citrus grove, a pergola and preserved stone water channels. Today, the masseria is partly surrounded by a dry-stone wall; its original stone-built tower structure may date from the late 16th century.

The Lama Capitolo is a short stream course that has deeply cut into the coastal plateau, descending from a height of around 30 metres to almost sea level into a broad plain below. At Masseria Il Capitolo, ceramic finds from the Metal Age and the Late Roman period suggest that during the imperial period it may have been a stopping station on the coastal road. Because of its location, the isolated Grotta del Capitolo is assumed to have possibly served as a hermitage or for an unspecified cultural use.
