Breuil-Cervinia is a modern holiday resort at the foot of the Matterhorn. Those choosing a holiday apartment in Breuil-Cervinia will find a wide range of options for shared days here: high-Alpine views, winter sports, hiking trails, a bike park, a clear mountain lake and even a golf course near the town centre. This makes it possible to choose the accommodation’s location according to your own plans, without every activity having to be of the same nature.

High mountains and special experiences at Plateau Rosà

Plateau Rosà combines an impressive altitude with specific discoveries. From the terrace at the mountain station of the cable car on Plateau Rosà, the great four-thousand-metre peaks can be viewed from close up. From there, the Ice Cave can also be reached on foot through a 50 m long tunnel at a depth of 15 m. This makes the high mountains not merely a scenic backdrop, but a place with experiences of its own.

The “A Mountain of Work” museum is also located on Plateau Rosà at an altitude of 3,500 m. Photographs and equipment document the construction of the Plateau Rosà and Furggen cable cars.

Slopes, mountain trails and a network for bikers

In winter, the Breuil-Cervinia–Valtournenche–Zermatt ski area takes centre stage. It extends across three valleys and two countries and includes more than 360 kilometres of slopes. The Breuil-Cervinia ski area is connected to the slopes of Valtournenche and the Swiss slopes of Zermatt. Those viewing a holiday apartment as a base for different days of winter sports can factor this cross-border expanse into their own area planning.

There are also trails for all levels of difficulty when hiking at altitude in Breuil-Cervinia and Valtournenche; the ski lifts can be used to shorten the approach. From Cervinia, a trail of about 40 minutes also leads to the dam of Lake Goillet. The different trail lengths help distinguish between more demanding days in the mountains and shorter excursions during the same trip.

For cycling, the Bike Park del Cervino in the area around the permanent glaciers of Plateau Rosà consists of a varied network of trails specially created for bikers.

Lago Blu and a golf course near the town centre

Lago Blu is fed by spring water, is always very clear and allows the Matterhorn to be reflected on its surface. The lake is about a 30-minute walk or a few minutes by car from the town centre of Breuil-Cervinia. These approximate times provide a concrete point of reference when deciding between a walk and a short drive for an excursion.

Another focus lies right by the town centre: the golf course of the Golf Club del Cervino is an 18-hole course whose layout begins there. If golf is part of your travel plans, you can initially consider how you would like to include the town centre in your daily itinerary when choosing a holiday apartment. At the same time, families or travel groups with different interests can combine mountain, lake and sporting experiences.

Discover places in the surrounding area

For further destinations in the region, you can also include Chef-lieu, Saint Vincent, Ayas, La Thuile, Sarre, Valsavarenche, Champoluc and Montjovet in your wider travel plans.
