Culture

The surrounding area of Balatonederics is home to the ruins of the Pauline monastery, Badacsony, the Gyöngyösi Csárda and Tátika.

Balatonederics was first documented as Ederics in 1262. During the Ottoman period, the settlement was later destroyed and resettled by 1696.

The local Roman Catholic church dates back to the 13th century and was rebuilt in 1870.

The Africa Museum displays a trophy collection donated by Dr. Nagy Endre, a hunter who lived in Tanzania from 1952 onwards.
