Bicske: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Batthyány Castle in Bicske was built in 1754–1755 for Count Lajos Batthyány. Between 1796 and 1799, it acquired its late Baroque and early Classical form.

Culture and History

The Bicske-Galagonyás archaeological site is located east of the built-up area of Bicske on the left bank of the Szent-László stream. There, archaeologist János Makkay discovered the Hungarian counterpart of the Sopot culture. The remains of three prehistoric cultures have also been preserved in Bicske-Galagonyás.

Lajtha Ház was created by converting a former leather factory owned by the Lajtha family into a cultural centre. It offers cultural programmes, concerts and exhibitions. The Báder Region Historical and Wine Museum offers guided tours in Hungarian and German.

Landscape and Excursions

Málé-hegy has been a popular destination for excursions among the residents of Bicske for centuries. The western slopes of Málé-hegy are home to vineyards, orchards, wine press houses and farms; there are fishponds in the valley. Málé-hegyi Cave was formed through quarrying.

The cycle path between Bicske and Csabdi has an extended tunnel beneath the motorway.

Bicskei Tanuszoda offers wellness facilities such as a sauna, infrared sauna, whirlpool and plunge pool. Lajtha Büfé serves visitors soft drinks, coffee specialities and seasonal treats.
