Szegi is a Hungarian municipality in the Tokaj District of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County.
The municipality lies on the right bank of the Bodrog.
Tokaj is the nearby district town, approximately 9 kilometres southeast of Szegi.
History
Szegi became an independent municipality in 1913, temporarily bore the name Pusztaszeg and was renamed Szegi in 1914. Anyone interested in local history will find a clearly documented sequence of names here.
In 1950, Szegi and Bodrogkisfalud were reunited under the name Bodrogszegi. In 1991, they separated again and once more became independent municipalities.
