Vizsoly played a significant role in the history of the Reformation. In the late 16th century, a printing press was established there, and in 1590 the first Bible in the Hungarian language was printed there.

The Reformed Church of Vizsoly houses one of approximately 20 surviving copies of this Bible; a small Bible museum is attached to the church.
Landscape
Vizsoly lies in the valley of the Hernád River and on its left bank. Mount Lapishegy is located nearby; the mountains of Magoska, Gergely-hegy, and Sas-kút are also in the surrounding area.
Geographical Location
Road No. 3713 runs through Vizsoly. Korlát-Vizsoly railway station is located south of the village; it is connected to the railway line between Abaújszántó and Hidasnémeti.
