The Romanian folk dance traditions of Méhkerék have been included in Hungary’s National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The village’s dance culture includes five Romanian dances on which the ensemble’s choreographies are based: mînînţelu, ardelenescu, chimpinescu, bătuta, and duba.

The religious history is also connected with local development. Today’s Romanian Orthodox church in Méhkerék was begun in 1836 after the previous church burned down, and was completed in 1854.

The Romanian Orthodox Church Biserica Ortodoxă Română din Micherechi in Méhkerék is designed in the late-classical style, is located on Kossuth Street, and is dedicated to the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel.
