Sennen combines a large sandy beach with varied trails, opportunities to observe nature and special experiences. Sennen Cove Beach offers golden sand; on the seafront there is a free-to-use telescope with two levels, designed for safe use by children and wheelchair users. Anyone looking for a holiday apartment in Sennen can therefore tailor their stay to very different holiday interests: active days on the coast, shared discoveries or an itinerary that combines the beach and culture.

Walking between Sennen Cove and Land's End

One specific option for walkers is the moderate Sennen Cove & Land's End route. It is 3.3 miles long, starts at the Sennen Cove car park and ends either back in Sennen Cove or at Land's End. For planning the day, the route length is therefore particularly important. An alternative return route uses a section of National Cycleway Route 3, which is largely well surfaced and flat enough for wheelchair use.

The route from Pendeen to Sennen Cove also shows another side of the landscape. It follows rugged paths along the Granite Coast to the golden sand of Sennen Cove. Along the way, there are opportunities to spot seals and seabirds, while seasonal pink sea thrift and purple heather shape the surroundings. The First & Last Trail passes through Sennen and Mousehole, offers views of Mount Bay and ends at Land's End. Depending on your preferred itinerary for the day, you can therefore choose between individual walks and a longer connection.

Beach, surfing and step-free paths

At Sennen Cove Beach, there are two car parks at the bottom of the slope, as well as a large field car park at the upper access point to the cove. Stonechair Lane is designated as an accessible route to Sennen Cove and avoids roads and steps.

The Sennen Surfing Centre is located directly on Sennen's golden sandy beach and offers a range of surf lessons. Beginner lessons initially cover beach safety and equipment before moving on to paddling and catching waves. All equipment is included in every lesson package. This allows families or groups with different interests to plan a stay around beach observation, lessons and their own coastal walks.

Special discoveries in Sennen

At Greeb Farm, you can meet sheep, goats, rabbits, pigs, miniature ponies and ferrets. The restored 200-year-old Cornish farm combines these animal encounters with traditional Cornish craft workshops. There, visitors can watch a local silversmith and potter at work. This adds a vivid encounter with crafts and rural tradition to a day at the beach.

St Sennen is the “First and Last” church on the British mainland. The historic lifeboat, with its regular launches, is also one of the described features of life in Sennen and supports the region's tourism economy. At The Iconic Signpost, visitors can take a photo and collect it later the same day from Penwith House – The Signpost Shop.

The right starting point for your stay

Your choice of accommodation can be guided by which of these experiences you want to focus on. For walks, the routes to Land's End, along the Granite Coast or via the First & Last Trail offer different highlights. From Penzance, follow the signposts marked Land's End and take the A30 for 9 miles to the village of Sennen.

For another excursion north of Sennen Cove lies Gwynver Beach, a secluded stretch with golden sand. Depending on your travel plans, you can therefore view Sennen as a base for beaches, nature, crafts, animals and historic places. Further places for orientation can be found under Pensilva, Polperro, Washaway, Lanivet, North Tamerton, Saint Newlyn East, Torpoint and St Just.
