A scenic route from Bad Oldesloe railway station to Nütschau Monastery is approximately 5 km long. The route leads through the Brenner Moor and follows a marked pilgrimage trail. The boardwalk is described as being accessible almost all year round.

The Travetal valley is used extensively for local recreation.

Nütschau Monastery can be reached by car via the A21, exit 16 Bad Oldesloe-Nord/Tralau/Kloster Nütschau. The Friedensbrücke connects the districts separated by the Trave.
