Wrist: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Bramau flows through Wrist. The western part of Wrist borders the Stör, which is described as the third-largest river in Schleswig-Holstein and is 83 kilometres long.

Nature

The Bramau is described as being popular with water hikers. Wrist’s waterway tourism concept includes a landing stage at the Bramau bridge on Bokeler Straße. In Holstein, canoe tours are offered on 250 kilometres of waterways along the Stör and its tributaries.

Culture

The Stellau Church in Wrist is a single-nave, towerless fieldstone church with Romanesque and Gothic elements. It was consecrated in 1230 and is included in the list of cultural monuments of Schleswig-Holstein.

The New Parsonage in Stellau was built in 1859 near the Old Parsonage. After 1859, the Old Parsonage served as a barn and stable building. Concerts, theatre performances and exhibitions take place in the Old Parsonage in Stellau.

The Stellau Church is generally open during the day, but visitors are asked to contact the parsonage beforehand. The Old Parsonage has no regular opening hours.

Getting Around

At Wrist railway station, regional express services to Elmshorn, Neumünster, Hamburg and Kiel operate at least hourly. In addition, an hourly Nordbahn service runs from Wrist via Dauenhof, Horst, Elmshorn and Pinneberg to Hamburg-Altona. The regional express journey from Wrist railway station to Hamburg Central Station takes just under 40 minutes. There are approximately 240 parking spaces at Wrist railway station.

Five long-distance cycling routes run through Holstein, including the Mönchsweg. A three-day, 65-kilometre tour from Glückstadt to Wrist is promoted along the Mönchsweg. The Glückstadt–Wrist route passes the Stellau fieldstone church shortly after Wrist.
