Wiemersdorf: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

History

Wiemersdorf was first documented in 1141 under the name Wimeresthorpe. The Dörpsversammlung on St Martin’s Day is documented as a tradition and can be traced back approximately 250 years.

On 24 November 2024, the “Ostarbeiter Children’s Home” memorial site was inaugurated on Ziegeleiweg. It commemorates the children who died at the former facility. A forced labourers’ children’s home was located on a former brickworks site in Wiemersdorf from 1944 to 1945.
