The U1 provides connections to Hamburg, with direct services from Norderstedt to Hamburg's Dammtor and Hauptbahnhof stations. During the day, trains run every five to ten minutes.

Culture

At the STADT.GESCHICHTEN.LABOR., the city museum explores Norderstedt's past, present and future with interactive stations. The Fire Brigade Museum presents historic fire engines and firefighting methods across more than 2,300 square metres of exhibition space.

The Kulturwerk am See has a concert and theatre hall with 440 seats. Artists from Norderstedt, Germany, Europe and beyond perform there. At the same time, the Kulturwerk am See is connected to the industrial heritage of a former sand-lime brickworks.
