At the western and southern edge of Nahe, the protected Alster system extends across the Rönne to Lake Itzstedt. The Oberalsterniederung section continues westwards towards the source of the Alster.
Nature
The bathing facility at Lake Itzstedt is located nearby, on the eastern shore of the lake in Itzstedt. The 14-hectare lake borders Nahe and Oering.
The Nienwohlder Moor nature reserve is also located near Nahe, between Nahe, Itzstedt and Sülfeld. It covers around 400 hectares, protects rare flora and fauna, and can be almost completely circumnavigated on hiking trails.
Culture
Nahe Church is known for its mosaic windows and is located on a pilgrimage route of the Way of St. James.
