A Romanesque tympanum depicting a dragon beneath four arches and a small bird is set into the foundation of its southern wall. The historic furnishings include a pulpit from 1604, a baptismal font from 1615, an altar from 1607 with an altarpiece from 1763, and a free-standing wooden bell tower from 1595. The church stands in the medieval settlement area of Farnstedtmarck near the Wellspangau, which flows from Lake Langsee to the Schlei.
