Culture and History
Caspar von Saldern commissioned the manor house at Schierensee Estate and died there in 1786. The village of Schierensee was sold to Bordesholm Monastery in 1470. Between 1776 and 1782, the manor house at Schierensee Estate was expanded with Baroque and Neoclassical decorative elements as well as a landscape garden.
The manor house at Schierensee Estate can be visited by prior arrangement with the estate administration.

Hof Sophienlust has a self-service farm shop and offers vegetables, eggs, dairy products, sausages, beef, pork, and chicken, as well as fresh organic baked goods at its own farm and at the Kiel Waldorf School.
