Water and Nature

Rendsburg's ship greeting facility at the bridge terraces is the only facility of its kind on the Kiel Canal. It explains the passing ships to visitors; they are welcomed with the national anthem of their country of origin.

A publicly accessible landing stage on the Lower Eider allows recreational athletes to launch SUP boards or canoes. Rendsburg's waterways also support stand-up paddleboarding and canoeing.

The city park connects the old town with Neuwerk. It is a 14-hectare green recreational area crossed by Stadtsee, a branch of the Eider. More than 70 tree species grow in the city park, which is also home to numerous animals.

Paths

Pedestrians and cyclists can use a 130-meter-long tunnel beneath the Kiel Canal.

The NOK Route runs from Brunsbüttel to Kiel along the canal via Rendsburg. It is mostly flat and has only a few inclines.
