Culture

The historic water tower stands at the northern edge of Groß Vollstedt. It is described as a village landmark and as a surviving example of a type of water reservoir building that is important to the social, hygiene and technological history of rural areas. Today, the water tower provides shelter for bats; it has also been associated with local efforts to protect owls.

The "Good Shepherd" Chapel in Groß Vollstedt is described as a roof-only church dating from 1958/59. It was the first small church to receive support as part of Schleswig-Holstein's chapel construction program. The chapel is considered to be of particular public interest for preservation for historical and scientific reasons.
