Nehmten: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Nehmten is located directly on Lake Großer Plöner See and is part of the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park. The municipality describes marked routes for hiking, cycling, horseback riding and carriage rides. In addition, there is a renaturation project covering 116 hectares of meadows along the Tensfelder Au. Nature
The landscape includes Nehmten Forest, one of the larger contiguous forest areas in Schleswig-Holstein; around half of its area consists of deciduous forest. The Stocksee circular trail leads through a hilly landscape in which the influence of the Ice Age remains visible. A narrow path climbs around 25 metres up Sepeler Kliff and offers expansive views over Lake Großer Plöner See. Sepeler Kliff is a former shoreline of Lake Plön with nutrient-poor soil. From June to September, rare flowers bloom there, including wild thyme, maiden pink and restharrow. Visitors can see waterfowl on Lake Großer Plöner See, red-backed shrikes and white-tailed eagles at Sepeler Kliff.
The Nehmtener Horn circular trail is a 15.4-kilometre hiking route with a stated duration of 3 hours and 52 minutes. It runs along the Sepeler Kliff Special Area of Conservation. As the habitat is sensitive, the route follows the water below the cliff.
Trails
The Stocksee circular trail includes a possible detour to a bathing area with a jetty and views over Lake Stocksee. It also offers elevated views over Lake Stocksee, from which pochards and other waterfowl can be observed. The trail heads towards Ziegelhof Nehmten, follows Lake Stocksee through woodland and pastureland, and offers opportunities to observe the local flora and fauna.
The Gut Nehmten circular trail is 8.97 kilometres long, takes around 2 hours and 13 minutes, and starts at the car park by the Im Sande bus stop in Nehmten. It runs through meadows and the lowlands of the Tensfelder Au to Hornsmühlen, then returns along the wooded shore of Lake Stocksee.
Gut Nehmten and the municipality of Nehmten offer a free, interconnected network of riding trails extending for more than 15 kilometres through fields, meadows, and deciduous and coniferous forests. Some sections run along Lake Großer Plöner See and Lake Stocksee.
Culture
Gut Nehmten has been family-owned since 1768. Directly from the estate, Gut Nehmten sells portioned, deep-frozen game meat from fallow deer, roe deer and wild boar, including grilled sausages and salami.
