Köhn: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nature

The Mühlenau flows through the municipality of Köhn. It is the only direct outflow from Lake Selent to the Baltic Sea, and many sections of its banks in Köhn are protected. Köhn has field and forest paths for hiking and cycling; the Bisterfeld and Pülser Vieh forests near Köhn invite visitors to take walks in natural surroundings. Bisterfeld Forest is a destination for walks.

Sailors and surfers can reach Lake Selent from Pratjau/Fargau or Grabensee. Sailing and stand-up paddleboarding are not permitted at Pülsen bathing area because the bathing area is surrounded by a protected area.

Cycling and Culture

Plön District has a signposted network of cycle paths measuring 850 km in total. From Köhn, Salzau Castle can be reached by bicycle. Salzau Castle has hosted annual music events, including JazzBaltica.

History

Köhn was first mentioned in official documents in 1404. Pülsen is documented as having been mentioned in an official document dating from 1362.

Region

Large parts of Plön District belong to the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park, which covers 75,000 hectares. In the wider region, canoe trips are available on the Schwentine waterway trail, as well as excursions by sailboat and tour boat.
