A new climate forest at the confluence of the Brammerau and Schwale rivers characterizes a special part of Bönebüttel. Those wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Bönebüttel can then continue their search for accommodation.
Nature
The Bönebüttel climate forest covers around 1.8 hectares; 7,500 seedlings were planted as part of the climate forest project. The climate forest is freely accessible to residents and visitors and is open for exploration, quiet relaxation, or a small picnic.
A climate forest is planned as a mixed deciduous forest with English oaks, hornbeams, small-leaved lime trees, wych elms, alders, and ash trees.
The Bönebütteler Gehege is a historic woodland area in the Schleswig-Holstein Uplands natural region. Bönebüttel lies directly west of the Bönebütteler Gehege FFH area.
The bat forest is a one-hectare stand of old beech trees in the Schwale lowlands near Bönebüttel. It is part of the Bönebütteler Gehege Natura 2000 site. Nature conservation work in the Schwale lowlands near Bönebüttel focuses on improving the habitat for crested newts and their spawning waters. Two additional spawning waters were created on the southern edge of the Bönebütteler Gehege, next to the bat forest.
