Nature and Exercise
A circular route of around five kilometres in the Pfingstwald forest is designed as a forest nature trail; it can be used for walking or jogging. In addition, cycling and skating routes run through Hasloh or start there.
Hasloh is part of the Rantzauer Forst core local recreation area on the outskirts of Hamburg; it is connected to regional cycle paths and the local cycling and pedestrian network. Paths around the Holmmoor and in the Syltkuhlen area provide space for recreation.
Leisure
Hasloh has three public playgrounds: Flashorn, Robinson Playground and Heidkamp. The Robinson Playground is Hasloh’s largest playground. It includes a paved area for skating and inline skating with a basketball hoop, as well as a beach volleyball court.
The Hasloh high ropes course in the Pfingstwald forest comprises more than 100 climbing and obstacle stations of varying difficulty; it also has a trained team, and the activities are presented for all age groups. A children’s course is intended for visitors aged six and over with a height of 1.20 to 1.70 metres. In addition, the Hasloh high ropes course offers a secured base jump from a 13-metre-high platform.
Culture and History
Every year, the Pfingstwald forest hosts a Pentecost concert featuring various music groups, attracting hundreds of visitors.
Hasloh was first recorded under the name “Herslo” in 1253. The village is associated with the historic Ochsendrift, the cattle-driving route from Schleswig to Wedel, and has been connected to the railway line from Altona towards Kaltenkirchen since 1884.
Orientation
Since 2024, Hasloh has had around 25 village information boards about buildings that no longer exist; they contain brief historical descriptions and mapped locations. A copy of the plan for the historical information boards is displayed on the large noticeboard next to the school.
