Culture

The rose on the municipal coat of arms symbolizes the Kordes Rose School. One of the area's special places is Gut Aspern, which dates back to the 16th century. After 2005, Gut Aspern was converted into a modern equestrian centre in Germany. The grounds include two full-size polo fields. Nature

The Himmelmoor is located in the Pinneberg area. It covers around 600 hectares, is one of the largest raised bogs in Schleswig-Holstein and has been designated a nature reserve since 2022, after peat extraction there ended in 2018. The nature reserve is also described as covering 582 hectares. The Himmelmoor includes remnants of raised bog, bog woodland, fen areas, wet meadows, species-rich grassland, standing waters and former peat-cutting areas. Existing paths in the Himmelmoor remain available for hiking and horse riding.

From Easter to October, the former peat railway gives visitors an impression of the Himmelmoor. Six elevated viewing points offer views across the Himmelmoor.
