Getting Around

The Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Route passes through Großenbrode on its way to Fehmarn and back. The cycle tours suggested locally are 24 to 35 kilometres long and lead to Heiligenhafen, Sütel, Gut Görtz and Meeschendorf. By car, Großenbrode can be reached via the A1 to Heiligenhafen and then the B207. The tourist information offices in Großenbrode provide free brochures as well as cycling and hiking maps.

On Site

The South Beach has a 1.5-kilometre-long promenade and a pier. Along this promenade, there are fish sandwiches, crêpes, ice cream, cakes and restaurant dishes. The beach area includes the KinderInsel, a play area next to the pier, and an adventure playground towards the jetty. There are beach volleyball and beach soccer courts there; the Aktiv-Point offers free outdoor fitness equipment. Shallow water and sandbanks are suitable for small children.

The menus at Großenbrode’s restaurants often feature fish from the Baltic Sea.
