Leck: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Leck is located where the fertile marshland transitions into the sandier geest landscape. In the past, the Lecker Au was navigable as far as Leck for earlier types of ships.
Culture
St. Willehad Church was built around 1150 in the Romanesque style at the highest point of Leck’s original harbour settlement. It houses a carved altar from the workshop of Claus Berg dating from 1520. Among the districts of Schleswig-Holstein, Nordfriesland has the highest density of museums and the largest number of registered cultural monuments.
The Leck-Huus is a cultural and event centre in Leck and is accessible without barriers on the ground floor. It is a Geestharden farmhouse that was built in 1856 and fully developed in 2005.
The Leck circular route leads to the former site of Leckhuus Castle, the area of the former harbour and the historic fishermen’s houses. It connects these stops with local historical information.
Landscape
A circular hiking route around Leck, approximately 7 km long, combines local history, nature and technology. It is suitable for hikers, cyclists, joggers and pedestrians and includes signposts, seating and information boards.
Two of Nordfriesland’s 16 cycling routes, the Geest-Dike Tour and the Ochsenweg Route, start at the town hall square in Leck. Near Leck, the Langenberger Forest has six marked paths and three permanent trails ranging from 3.4 to 11 kilometres in length for hiking, cycling or horseback riding. Also near Leck, the western Ochsenweg is a protected archaeological monument and a valuable natural area.
Leisure
Canoe trips on the Lecker Au offer an opportunity to view the landscape from the water. Hof Schmörholm welcomes day visitors who can pick or buy fruit there and visit the summer field café.
Leck Adventure Pool has a non-swimmer area, 25-metre lanes and a bathing area for small children. It also features a 90-metre slide with a starry-sky effect, as well as diving boards at heights of one and three metres.
Relaxation
