The extensive collection of local history at the Drelsdorf Costume Museum has been assembled since the 1950s. It extends across nine rooms and presents costumes as well as Frisian domestic culture from the 17th to the 19th century. The holdings include jewellery and former household objects. A separate small collection also contains artefacts from the Early and Late Stone Ages. The northernmost Neanderthal finds are also displayed, including a hand axe. There is also an almost original Frisian room with a historic chest dating from 1699.
The local dance and costume group performs international and German folk dances and presents reconstructed original Drelsdorf costumes based on local research and historical images. These costumes were first presented to the public at the harvest procession in Drelsdorf in 1984. The village church is a Romanesque fieldstone church built around 1200, with a Renaissance altar dating from the late 16th century. Visits are possible by prior arrangement with the church office.
Nature and Paths
The Schirlbusch nature reserve is located in the north-eastern part of Drelsdorf. It is noted for its distinctive flora and fauna. There is a fitness trail in a nearby forest.
