History

The settlement of Klempau developed from the former Klempau farm, which was initially a ducal and later a district-owned estate. In 1938, the estate was divided into ten settler holdings along Sarauer Straße and Tannenweg.

The municipal Lindenbusch cycling tour runs along Sarauer Straße, through the Farchau district forest and via Groß Disnack and Kählstorf. A suggested low-traffic hiking route connects the village with the Klempau settlement via the former school path and Tannenweg.

Culture

The coat of arms of Klempau depicts a white stork. In doing so, it expresses the municipality’s commitment to preserving the species and symbolizes the coexistence of agriculture and nature.

The Am Teich village restaurant attracts numerous guests from the surrounding area. A garden at Dorfstraße 16 is open seasonally from April to September on Friday afternoons for interested visitors.

The riding club in Klempau is based at Klosterhof Klempau. It has an outdoor riding arena, a seasonal grass show-jumping arena and an indoor riding arena.

Geographical location
