It is described as a low-difficulty route suitable for beginners, recreational cyclists and families with children. Road access to the route includes the Groß Sarau exit on the A20 on the Lübeck–Rostock connection and the B207.

Trails

The Drägerweg enables hikers and cyclists to travel from Lübeck to Rothenhusen without using busy road sections. Its final section crosses Groß Sarau to the historic Rothenhusen ferry house on Lake Ratzeburg.

Culture

The “Overcoming Borders” sculpture stands beside the Wakenitz pedestrian bridge between Schattin and Nädlershorst in Groß Sarau. It commemorates the division and reunification of Germany. The Gut Tüschenbek estate complex preserves a mausoleum as well as many historic agricultural and residential buildings.
