Culture

Großsedlitz Baroque Garden is a formal Baroque garden associated with Heidenau, featuring terraced garden areas, original sandstone sculptures, water features and flowerbeds. It was planned in the French style under Augustus the Strong and is a place that combines relaxation with the appreciation of art.

Heidenau can be explored independently on the historic circular route A Look into Heidenau’s Past. The route includes 30 numbered sites or buildings with historic images and information boards.

The Castles Tour includes Großsedlitz Baroque Garden and Weesenstein Castle. However, a large part of this tour runs along roads without a separate cycle path.

Swimming and Activities

Albert-Schwarz-Bad has a water area of 800 m² with a paddling pool, a non-swimmers’ pool, a sports pool and a diving pool, as well as a 70 m-long RacerSlide. The grounds also include more than 40,000 m² of play and sports areas and three courts for beach volleyball, beach handball and beach soccer.

Albert-Schwarz-Bad offers swimming lessons ranging from water familiarization to advanced swimming.
