Delitzsch Baroque Palace was formerly the residence of the widowed duchesses of the Saxon line of Saxe-Merseburg and is now a cultural center in northern Saxony. The Delitzsch Baroque Palace Museum presents the lives of the widowed duchesses of Saxe-Merseburg as well as the daily lives of the servants in the 17th and 18th centuries. Getting Around

Delitzsch Baroque Palace can be reached from the Lower Station on the Leipzig–Dessau/Wittenberg line or from the Upper Station on the Halle–Eilenburg line; both stations are about a 15-minute walk away. The route from Leipzig Central Station is described as taking the S2 suburban railway line to Delitzsch Lower Station, followed by an approximately 15-minute walk through the city center.

Nature

Delitzsch preserves a fortification dating from the early 15th century, with a city wall, city towers, a zwinger, a moat, and an embankment. A 1.4-kilometer-long city wall with a water-filled moat and a shady lime-tree promenade encloses Delitzsch’s historic city center and makes walks around the old town possible. The city park, the rose garden, and the nearby zoo offer places for walking and relaxation. The lakes around Delitzsch can be explored by bicycle.

Delitzsch Zoo covers four hectares and displays exotic animals in enclosures designed to resemble their natural habitats. It has an aviary that visitors can enter, with budgerigars and zebra finches. The grounds are level and barrier-free and can be fully used by people with mobility impairments and wheelchair users.
