It protects the character of wet woodland and wet meadows as a habitat for amphibians and dragonflies.
The Peace Oak is designated as a natural monument and has a circular bench for resting.
The Knauteich pond was extensively restored; orchards were planted and its banks were landscaped in a natural manner. It is described as a place where visitors can stop and watch ducks and swans.
Paths and Landscape
A walk through Niederfrohna can follow the Frohnbach stream and its numerous bridges. The Jahnshorn Forest is a detour for peace and reflection and offers a view across the village.
The Forellenbach Valley begins where the Frohnbach and Forellenbach streams meet and leads towards the nearby Mulde Valley.
