Neusalza-Spremberg: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Neusalza-Spremberg can then continue searching for accommodation. The Reiterhaus is one of the oldest and most picturesque Upper Lusatian half-timbered house constructions. The main building was constructed in 1670/71 and has retained its present appearance since its renovation in 1703.

The side wing, dating from the first half of the 18th century, contains a half-timbered construction on the upper floor described as rare. In 1938, the Reiterhaus was entered in the official register of listed monuments as a monument of art and culture. The rider figure on the house is a trophy from the knightly joust, an old folk custom of Upper Lusatia.

The Trinity Church was consecrated on February 4, 1679; its simple three-part floor plan consists of a chancel, apse and nave. The Spremberg village church stands on a hill above the Spree, next to the former Exulantenkirche of Neusalza. Together, the two churches frame the town center. The Spremberg church was rebuilt in an enlarged form in 1901/1902, retaining its old tower and former apse.

The founding of Neusalza was approved by the Saxon Elector on January 12, 1670. The first documentary mention of Spremberg dates back to 1242. The Neusalza Trinity Church stands above the market; it is associated with the exiles who came to Neusalza and the surrounding area in the 18th century.

Leisure

The Wald- und Erlebnisbad is a modern outdoor swimming pool next to extensive forests, on a site covering 30,000 square meters. Its adventure area includes a large water slide, a lazy river, a waterfall and bubbling water features. The swimming complex also has a natural pool with a large water surface and diving tower, as well as a sports pool with 25-meter lanes. Camping is possible on the grounds; there is also a modern kitchen and a communal room.

Spreepark is a place for peace, quiet and seclusion. The local Kerbsohlental valley is described as a natural spectacle.

Getting around

Neusalza-Spremberg is located directly on the Umgebinde Cycle Route and the Spree Cycle Route, two long-distance cycling routes. The Reiterhaus is located directly on the B96, 200 meters before the town exit in the direction of Zittau. There is a bus stop named Reiterhaus in front of the Reiterhaus. Car parking is available at the Reiterhaus and on the other side of the Spree at the Residenz am Spreepark.

A 12.7-kilometer circular route around Neusalza-Spremberg passes the Reiterhaus Museum, Spreepark and the Schmiedesteine rocks. The terrace at the Schmiedesteine offers views over Neusalza-Spremberg and the Lusatian Highlands. Hikes into the Zittau Mountains can be planned from Neusalza-Spremberg.

The Upper Lusatian Mountain Trail runs for 118 kilometers in six stages from the Lusatian Highlands to the Zittau Mountains Nature Park. The Via Sacra connects 16 sacred buildings and art treasures in Lower Silesia, North Bohemia and Upper Lusatia.
