Hohendubrau: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Hohe Dubrau hiking area near Hohendubrau includes the 293-metre-high Monumentberg, a restaurant, an observation tower and a children's playground. The observation tower on Monumentberg is open daily from 07:00 to 20:00 from 1 April to 31 October. From 1 November to 31 March, it remains closed except by prior arrangement. Climbing the tower is prohibited during storms, thunderstorms, hail or severe icing.

Hiking

An easy 2.7-kilometre loop starts in Groß Radisch and leads along forest paths and streams. Groß Radisch is situated on the southern slope of the Hohe Dubrau and is seven minutes from the motorway.

Nature

The Daubaner Wald nature heritage area in the Dauban district belongs to the Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape Biosphere Reserve. Dauban is home to an orchid meadow, wild gladioli and several ponds. Hiking trails run around the former elk enclosure; wild horses now live in the former elk enclosure.

Thräna has a wildlife enclosure with a children's playground, a Gaudi golf course and a wildlife lodge.

Culture

The white Protestant church in Groß Radisch was built in 1802. The cherry-tree avenues there are more than 200 years old and are described as traditional rural cultural heritage. The well-maintained cherry-tree avenues are ideal for walks and peaceful enjoyment. The monument to Johann Carl Adolf von Nostitz in Groß Radisch was erected in 1801.

The former forester's house in Thräna is a historic building. The village also has long-standing beekeeping and fish-farming traditions. Jerchwitz is home to an alpaca and horse farm that is a popular destination for animal lovers and children.

The St. Trinitatis parish in Weigersdorf was founded in 1843, and its church was built in 1846. The parish holds services on Sundays and offers activities for children and adults.
